Leni Robredo Launches “Tayo Ang Liwanag” Coffee Table Book

Former Vice President and presidential candidate Leni Robredo launched the “Tayo Ang Liwanag” coffee table book.

Angat Buhay Chairperson Leni Robredo launched the coffee table book “Tayo ang Liwanag” one year after the May 9 elections. This is a celebration of her “volunteer-driven campaign” for President of the United States.

The book launch was televised live on Atty’s official Facebook page. Angat Buhay and Leni Robredo. During the live stream, Robredo called the 388-page coffee table book a “diary of everything that happened.”

The book is supposed to weigh three kilograms and features images and statements from her “day-to-day” campaign from last year. According to her, the book is more of a personal diary from the time we made the decision till we published Angat Buhay.

“Mas personal diary siya mula noong decision-making process until noong ni-launch natin ‘yung Angat Buhay. Mas picture book siya pero marami kayong makikita na pinagdaanan namin na hindi n’yo pa nakita before” said Robredo.

Robredo stated in the same statement that when she learned that many people “reminisced” on social media about their campaign in the previous election, she looked at their statement and remembered what they went through. She also stated that despite losing the race, she looks back with gratitude.

“Pambihira di ba? Tayo ‘yung hindi natin nakamtan ‘yung mithiin natin pero we still look back on everything that happened with a grateful heart. If I have to go through it all over again, I will. Kasi tingin ko marami tayong na-achieve na, on the day I announce my candidacy, I never thought na maa-achieve natin,” she said.

“‘Yung numbers natin, bagsak. ‘Yung vilification na natanggap natin over the course of 6 years, sobra-sobra. Pero kayo, marami sa inyo ang unang na-involve sa kampanya pero you gave it all,” she added.

The former vice president also thanked all those who volunteered at Angat Buhay throughout her campaign. Other supporters are believed to have formed their own group to work alongside Angat Buhay in supporting others.

“I really want to thank everyone not just for joining us sa laban na pinagdaanan natin na napakahirap, pero for not losing hope even after the grief that you felt when we lost. Thank you sa pagsama sa’min for channeling this hope, to things that are more important para sa ating mga kababayan,” said Robredo.

Following the program, Robredo held a book signing event at the Museo ng Pag-asa in Quezon City, the headquarters of Robredo’s Angat Buhay NGO. In addition to the book launch, there will be a series of mini concerts called “Tayo Ang Liwanag Mini Concert” from today, May 9, to Saturday, May 13, as part of the People’s Campaign’s one-week celebration.

Former Senator Francis Pangilinan, Robredo’s running mate, and his campaign manager, Bam Aquino, are anticipated to attend the first day of the mini-concert. Nica del Rosario, Gab Pangilinan, The Company, and Rivermaya also performed at the concert.
