Rookie Police Escort in Laguna Dismissed After a Female Drug Suspect Escaped
A rookie police escorting a female drug suspect was dismissed from service after the suspect escaped in Santa Rosa, Laguna.
A rookie police officer was disarmed and is now facing various charges. This comes after a female prisoner escaped from his custody while attending an inquest at the Santa Rosa City Prosecutor’s Office.
Corporal Jeffrey Pagagon, according to the report, was assigned as a police guard of the Persons Under Police Custody (PUPC). Pagagon is now being held in the Sta. Rosa City Police Station’s protective custody.
The detainee who escaped was identified as Alice Reyes, a drug suspect, according to a report obtained by Police Brig. General Carlito Gaces, director of the Police Regional Office Calabarzon. According to police records, Reyes is a street-level guy who has long been involved in the sale of illegal substances known as “shabu” in the aforementioned city.
Pagagon allegedly brought Reyes to the City Prosecutor’s office, where he allegedly removed the prisoner’s handcuffs before presenting her to the prosecutor, according to Gaces. Corporal Pagagon confidently left Reyes outside the City Prosecutor’s office and returned to pick up the other people in police custody who will face the inquest hearings as well.
When the rookie cop returned, Reyes was no longer seated where she had been. According to some witnesses, the female drug suspect walked regularly out of Sta’s compound. Rosa Justice Court.
Lt.Col. of Police issued the order. Pagagon’s service firearm was confiscated by Paul Sabulao, Santa Rosa CPS, and the police station investigators were assigned in conjunction with the inquiry into how a female prisoner fled from the police. Pagagon is being investigated for negligence, and it is probable that he will be dismissed from service.
