A lawyer files a complaint against a fraud lady he met on social media and allegedly “bang” after losing P9.9 million.

Agents from the National Bureau of Investigation’s Anti-Organized and Transnational Crime Division (NBI-AOTCD) apprehended a lady during an entrapment operation. This comes after she extorted almost P9.9 million from a practicing lawyer she met on social media and had an intimate session with.

Marielle Cruz Padel alias “Lyka Cruz” was arrested and is facing charges of Estafa, Falsification, and Robbery Extortion. Padel was arrested in response to a lawyer’s complaint that he met the former through social media and had sexual relations with her.

Padel allegedly sought money three days later because she was pregnant. According to the report, the lawyer gives money. The lawyer received another text message from Lyka, who presented herself as Marielle’s twin and claimed that she died following her supposed abortion, blaming the lawyer.

Lyka demands money from the lawyer and threatens to ruin his name and family if he does not comply. As a result, the victim was able to donate up to P9.9 million in various days.

The lawyer, however, learned that Marielle and Lyka are the same people, prompting him to file a complaint with the NBI-NCR. On April 26, 2023, Lyka requested P61,000 in compensation for the doctor who allegedly conducted the abortion on Marielle.

The two arranged to meet at a Quezon City mall. This is where the entrapment operation took place. Lyka was arrested by NBI officials as soon as she got the money from the lawyer. Lyka admits to being Marielle Cruz Padel as well.
