WALANG PASOK: LGUs Declare Class Suspensions in Several Areas
WALANG PASOK – Several local government units declared class suspensions due to the inclement weather condition.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that a Low Pressure Area was spotted 130 kilometers Southeast of Cuyo, Palawan and embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone.
The LPA and ITCZ will be affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The weather disturbances may trigger flash floods or landslides due to moderate with at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.
On Thursday (May 4, 2023), various local governments and universities have announced class cancellations in response to the potential risks posed by the weather disturbance. This decision was taken in accordance with local government units’ and disaster risk reduction and management councils’ safety processes and recommendations.
