4 Police Officers in Caraga Region Found Being Corrupt Dismissed from Service
Four (4) corrupt police officers of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Caraga Region have been dismissed from the service.
According to the report, the corrupt police officers have been fired as part of the ongoing internal cleansing. According to PRO-13 head Brig. Gen. Pablo Labra II, the four cops are among 15 members of the province’s police force who have been disciplined for their involvement in crime and other illicit acts.
“We won’t allow a few bad apples among our ranks to spoil the image of our entire organization eclipsing the good deeds being done daily by the majority of police personnel,” said Labra.
As of May 3, fifteen of the 38 have been penalized, with four being ordered expelled from service, five suspended, two having their salaries forfeited, and four being admonished. Labra went on to say that the four fired were found guilty of grave dereliction of duty and grave misconduct, based on the report.
Twenty-five police officers from Police Region 13 or Caraga attended a three-day training on disciplinary and non-disciplinary processes in Camp Rafael Rodriguez, Butuan City. Participants, according to Labra, now have knowledge and abilities in procedures and rules for the evaluation and disposition of administrative cases.
