Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Isabela, April 28, 2023
EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 3.4 magnitude quake in Maconacon, Isabela today, Friday, April 28, 2023.
Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few weeks ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Isabela. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 3.4.
The earthquake that struck Isabela, today, Friday, April 28, 2023, at 05:15 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Maconacon.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Isabela was located at 17.61°North, 122.36°East – 028 km North 28° East of Maconacon. It had a depth of focus of 037 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording bureau, Intensity II was felt in Peñablanca, Cagayan. It is also stated that it is an aftershock of the magnitude 5.3 quake that hit Maconacon, Isabela last April 23, 2023.
