Illegal Recruiter in Mandaluyong Arrested for Offering Fake Work in Canada
Police authorities arrested an illegal recruiter in Mandaluyong City for allegedly offering fake work in Canada.
After her victim recognized her, the National Bureau of Investigation-Anti-Organized and Transnational Crime Division (NBI-AOTCD) apprehended an unlawful recruiter. The suspect was apprehended lately while obtaining certification from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) in Mandaluyong City.
According to the article, the suspect has been identified as Luzviminda Lucena Panzuelo, who is currently in the custody of the NBI. Panzuelo was apprehended after one of her victims recognized her at the DMW offices on Ortigas Avenue in Mandaluyong.
When one of the victims noticed the suspect in the vicinity, he went to the DMW Migrant Workers Protection Bureau for assistance in filing a charge of illegal recruitment and also asked for assistance from the NBI-AOTCD. Panzuelo was promptly detained as a result of this.
According to the POEA investigation, the suspect’s strategy is to recruit those who wish to work in Canada. According to authorities, the unlawful recruiters are only required to pay 189,000 as a “processing fee” for “guaranteed” positions as office and manufacturing workers.
According to the NBI-AOTCD report, Panzuelo is facing three estafa charges in Caloocan City’s Metropolitan Trial Court, which is why the arrest warrant was issued. In addition, Panzuelo is facing an illegal recruitment prosecution in the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 17 in Manila City. Panzuelo is now being held at the NBI Taft Avenue in Manila.
