Elementary School Goes Viral for Launching “Water Health Break Every Hour” Amid Hot Weather

Lucena East VIII Elementary School launched a “Water Health Break Every Hour” program due to the hot weather condition.

With regard to the announcement from PAGASA about the expected increase in temperature and hotter weather, Lucena East VIII Elementary School has initiated the implementation of the “Water Health Break Every Hour” program.

This program aims to provide relief from the heat and thirst that students, teachers, and staff may experience during school hours.

As part of the program, when three (3) short rings or signals are heard at the designated time, all students, teachers, and staff members of the school are encouraged to drink water simultaneously.

  • MORNING SCHEDULE: 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 11:00
  • AFTERNOON SCHEDULE: 2:00, 3:00

This will help ensure that everyone stays hydrated and refreshed throughout the day, especially during times of high temperature.

The “Water Health Break Every Hour” program was introduced on Monday, April 24, 2023, under the leadership of the school’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Coordinator, Ma’am Lovely Muzares, and the Health Team.

The implementation of the program was made possible with the valuable guidance and advice of the school’s Principal, Ma’am Ma. Concepcion D. Bobadilla.
