Elderly Man Harassing a Minor PWD Detained in Quezon City
Police authorities arrested an elderly man for allegedly harassing a minor person with disability (PWD) in Quezon City.
According to GMA News, a man in Quezon City is in jail for allegedly tormenting a crippled youngster. The suspect, 60, was apprehended after police delivered an arrest warrant on him at his home in Barangay Pasong Tamo.
The defendant is charged with breaching Republic Act No. 7610, also known as the Special Protection of Children from Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act. According to the complaint, the victim is a 17-year-old disabled person (PWD) who lives next door to the suspect.
Story of the victim’s parents, August of last year, when they observed something peculiar in their hearing and speech-impaired daughter’s behavior. They discovered his daughter was pregnant, according to the father.
When questioned, the daughter identified the suspect as the one who caused this type of situation. The case was filed in court in September of 2022, based on the report.
When questioned by the media, the suspect refused to make a statement. An arrest warrant in the same case had previously led to the arrest of another suspect in January. He admitted to the crime.
