UAAP Player Abegail Manzano Losses iPad on Ship
UAAP Player Abegail Manzano who is also part of the SEA Games in Cambodia was robbed of iPad on a ship.
A member of the UAAP (University Athletic Association of the Philippines) and a participant in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Cambodia fell victim to theft while on board a ship bound for Batangas port.
Abegail Manzano, a 22-year-old athlete, was patiently waiting for the ship to dock at Batangas port in the early hours of the morning when the incident occurred. The theft was captured by CCTV footage, which showed a woman sitting beside the victim who was asleep.
After some time, Manzano shifted positions and dozed off again while waiting for the ship to reach its destination. At this point, the elderly woman, who had covered her head with a cloth, approached the victim and tried to wake her up.
When the victim did not respond, the woman swiftly took the victim’s iPad from her bag and quickly left the accommodation area of the ship. It was only later that Manzano realized her iPad was missing when she woke up from her sleep.
Manzano recounted that she had just attended the opening of the provincial meet in Occidental Mindoro, a town called Sablayan, and was in a rush to return to UP Diliman as she had an exam scheduled for that day.
Manzano was also set to compete in the track and field event of the SEA Games in Cambodia, adding to the significance of the stolen iPad.
