PAGASA Says Filipinos to Brace for Sizzling Hot Weather on Saturday (April 22, 2023)
LATEST WEATHER UPDATE – The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Filipinos should brace for sizzling hot weather.
On Saturday (April 22, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the Easterlies will be affecting the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.
The Easterlies / Localized Thunderstorms. Will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the whole Visayas, Palawan, including the Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro.
Similar weather condition is expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda reported that hot and humid weather condition will prevail nationwide especially at noon. She advised the public to avoid or reduce heat exposure.
“Magiging mainit at maalinsangan pa rin ang panahon lalong lalo na sa tanghali, kaya hangga’t maaari po ay limitahan lamang ‘yung ating mga outdoor activities. At kung hindi naman maiiwasan, ay huwag po nating kalilimutan ‘yung pananggalang natin sa direktang init ng araw,” Castañeda said.
“Kung magiging mahaba rin yung exposure natin sa init ng araw ay ugaliin po nating magpahinga or sumilong from time to time, and wag nating kalilimutan yung pag-inom ng tubig upang maiwasan po natin yung panganib na maaaring idulot ng init ng panahon sa ating kalusugan,” she added.
The weather agency has warned the residents in the affected areas for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
The coastal water condition throughout the entire archipelago will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
