PAGASA Says Easterlies & Localized Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring rain over the country.

On Friday (April 21, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that easterlies will continue to affect the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.

The Easterlies / Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over entire Visayas, Palawan, including the Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms may trigger possible flash floods or landslides in several areas during severe thunderstorms.

Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said many parts of Luzon will experience hot and humid weather condition.

“‘Yung ating mga nasa may plain areas dito sa may Northern and Central Luzon, possible ‘yung higit pa rin sa 40 °C na heat index o yung mararamdamang init ng ating katawan,” Estareja said.

“Take note po dito sa may Tuguegarao, posibleng umabot pa rin sa 37 degrees Celsius ang ating maximum temperature. For Metro Manila po, 35 °C,” he added.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
