Firefighter Volunteer Arrested in a Buy-Bust Ops Along with 5 Other Drug Pushers
Police authorities arrested a firefighter volunteer and five (5) other illegal drug pushers during a series of buy-bust operations.
Anti-narcotics agents launched a buy-bust operation in Santa Rosa City, leading in the arrest of a volunteer, a taxi driver and mechanic accused of selling illegal drugs for P3,450,000. The accused were identified as Rommel Dela Cruz, 52, alias Mokong, a volunteer firefighter; Romeo Acido, 49, a cab driver; and Guillermo Dela Cruz, 52, a mechanic.
Around 8:25 p.m., officers from the Santa Rosa City Police Station, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Laguna Provincial Office, and the PDEA Regional Office IV-A Special Enforcement team apprehended them at a fast-food restaurant on Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road, Barangay Don Jose, based on the report.
During the raid, an estimated 500 grams of purported shabu and buy-bust money were confiscated. On the same day, operatives from the Bacoor City police and the PDEA-Cavite team conducted a buy-bust operation in Cavite, where a drug den was uncovered in Brgy. Bacoor City, Talaba 1.
Alfredo Adlawan, 75, drug den Maintainer; Allan Adlawan, 47; and Donna May Tarrayo, 30 were apprehended by authorities. More than 10 grams of suspected shabu worth P69,000 and drug accessories were taken from the accused. The defendants apprehended will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, often known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
