Concerned Netizen Airs Frustrations Over Irresponsible Residents Littering in Public Road
A male netizen has expressed his disappointment over irresponsible residents littering in a public road.
Waste pollution is a significant environmental problem in the Philippines, which has been exacerbated by rapid urbanization, population growth, and inadequate waste management infrastructure.
The improper disposal of waste has severe environmental and health consequences, as it contaminates the soil, water, and air, and provides a breeding ground for disease-carrying insects and rodents.
The Facebook page “VISOR” has shared the photo of plastic waste left by irresponsible residents in a public road. The photo immediately goes viral online elicits reactions from the online community.
Recently, the actions of the individuals who stand by at the Binondo-Intramuros Bridge have been causing concern. Primarily consisting of bikers and riders, they bring food and leave all the trash from their meal at the bridge, including small drainage areas that are now filled with plastic.
It is disappointing to note that many of these individuals lack discipline in disposing of their waste. During the previous administration, the bridge was kept clean, but now it is full of garbage.
It is suggested that standing by on the bridge should be prohibited due to the lack of discipline among the people.
