PAGASA Says LPA & Localized Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather Condition
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a trough of a new low pressure area will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Tuesday (April 4, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the Trough of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) will be affecting Mindanao. It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and BARMM.
Weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that LPA was last spotted 1,970 kilometers east of Mindanao.
The LPA’s trough will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
“Sa mga lugar na ito inaasahan natin na mas malaki ang tiyansa ng maulap na kalangitan ngayong araw na may malaking posibilidad din ng mga pag-ulan,” Badrina said.
The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
“Itong low pressure area na ito, nakikita natin, posibleng pumasok ng Philippine Area of Responsibility, hindi naaalis ang posibilidad within the next couple of days, possible bandang weekend pa,” he said.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon as well as the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
