Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Davao Occidental, March 30, 2023
EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.8 magnitude quake in Davao Occidental today, Thursday, March 30, 2023.
Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few weeks ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Davao Occidental. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 4.8.
The earthquake that struck Davao Occidental, today, Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 04:10 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Balut Island in Sarangani.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Davao Occidental was located at 02.06°North, 126.95°East – 398 km South 25° East of Balut Island in Sarangani with a depth of focus of 096 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. No intensity as well as instrumental intensity was recorded by the quake-monitoring agency as per its release.
