Considerate Doctor Earns Praises From Online Community for His Well-Written Prescription
A male doctor goes viral and earns praises online because of his well-written medical prescription for his patients.
“More of this kind of doctors,” This was the reaction of netizens after a photo shared by Dr. Robert Dominic Gonzales, showing a well-written prescription in the Filipino language, received praise.
“Mas mabuti kung maiintindihan ito ng lahat para iwas tayo sa mga tinatawag nating “medication errors” na dulot ng hindi maayos na pagkakaintindi sa mga nakasulat sa prescription. Ang mga medication errors na ito ay pwede ring makapahamak sa buhay ng mga pasyente natin,” Gonzales said.
The considerate doctor stated that he wrote this prescription because he had many patients in a community medical mission who were not familiar with English. He wanted to value the sentiments of his patients.
“I wrote this prescription in Filipino (Tagalog) because I had a lot of patients in a community medical mission who do not understand English. I care about them and value their sentiments,” he reiterated.
According to him, he also wanted to break the notion that when someone says ‘doctor’s handwriting,’ it is automatically assumed to be bad.
“I want to serve as a part of those who break the notion na kapag sinabing “sulat doktor” pangit na kaagad,” he added.
