First Miss Universe titleholder from Puerto Rico dies and Dayanara Torres mourns her death.

DAYANARA TORRES – Miss Universe 1970 Marisol Malaret dies and Dayanara Torres has this tribute for her “Miss Universe”.

Marisol Malaret is Miss Universe 1970 and also the first Puerto Rican beauty to get this title. She was the first Puerto Rican beauty to be crowned with this prestigious title, the successor of Gloria Diaz who was crowned in 1969.

And in an Instagram post, Dayanara Torres mourned her death and paid tribute to her.

She called her their country’s greatest treasure as she made the announcement of her death.

She was always the one she looks up to not only for the glory she gave to their country but also because of how great she was as a human being.

“Her business career, communicator and her impeccable elegance… Always rules!” Dayanara expressed.

She shared a close relationship with her and she sincerely treasures their moments together. According to her, these moments include her getting both pieces of advice and bits of scoldings from her.

“I always looked up to her, she was always my role model, worthy representative of Puerto Rican women. My reason for dreaming since I was little in wanting to be Miss Universe. I thank God and life for the joy of having met her, to have worked with her and to be able to call her my friend,” she added.

They might lose her but her legacy and glory will last forever.
