Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Maguindanao Del Norte, March 21, 2023
EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.7 magnitude quake in Maguindanao Del Norte today, Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few weeks ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Maguindanao Del Norte. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 4.7.
The earthquake that struck Maguindanao Del Norte, today, Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 05:13 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Bongo Island.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Maguindanao Del Norte was located at 07.43°North, 123.82°East – 025 km North 66° West of Bongo Island with a depth of focus of 575 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. No intensity as well as instrumental intensity was recorded by the quake-monitoring agency as per its release.
