Who may avail the cash assistance offer of DSWD?

The Crisis Intervention Unit of DSWD is crafted to help Filipinos who are in a difficult situation. The following are the factors considered in the granting of cash aid:

  • individual in a crisis situation
  • family in a crisis situation
  • have not yet availed this cash assistance of DSWD this year
  • an indigent as certified by the Barangay Chairman of the area where you reside

According to DSWD, the processing time depends whether the assistance is an outright cash, a check, or a guarantee or referral letter. If it is an outright cash, it may take a maximum of 45 minutes per client. For the issuance of a guarantee or referral letter, it will take 15-20 minutes and three (3) to five (5) days for the processing of check.
