Loving Grandma Expresses Support for Grandson During Running Competition
TIAONG, QUEZON – A loving grandma goes viral and earns praise online for accompanying her grandson during a running competition
No hot weather can match the passionate love expressed by a grandmother to her grandson. The competition is memorable not only for Lola Corason Morellio, who participated for the first time but also for the audience and other athletes.
SPED athlete, Yhouhan Veronia, from District II, in the 100 and 200m sprint category, received positive reactions after being supported by his grandmother on the race track at the Palarong Quezon 2023 held in Lusacan Tiaong Quezon.
Along with the scorching heat of the sun, Corason Morellio, together with her grandchild, touched the heart of each athlete from different districts. Without hesitation, the elderly lady approached and accompanied the child after stopping running.
As the flag was lowered as a signal for the start of the race, each competitor showed their speed from different units to become the champion. However, everyone’s attention was caught when Veronia stopped running a few meters away from the starting line.
As a result, Morellio couldn’t help but hold her grandchild’s hand and guide her to the finish line to give him adequate support and continue the race even though it seemed too late.
According to the elderly lady, she really planned to support her grandson from the beginning so he can run. She also added that it doesn’t matter to her if the child doesn’t win, as long as he is happy.
Meanwhile, the athletes continued to compete in various categories to prove themselves in front of many people, led by District III, followed by District I which did not lag behind.
