Male Netizen Shares Photos of Angkas Rider w/ ‘Elesi’ on Helmet

A male netizen brings laughter online after posting the photos of Angkas rider with an ‘elesi’ attached on its helmet.

Motorcycle taxis have been a popular mode of transportation in many countries, particularly in Southeast Asia. In some areas, motorcycle taxis are even considered a more convenient and affordable way of getting around compared to traditional taxis or public transportation.

To attract more passengers, some motorcycle taxi riders have resorted to making gimmicks to stand out from the rest. These gimmicks can range from putting up decorations on their motorcycles to wearing costumes while driving.

A Facebook user named Rommel Joseph Malicdem recently shared photos of a Angkas rider wearing a ‘elesi’ on his helmet. The post spread like wildfire online, eliciting reactions from netizens.

In the photo, it can be noticed that the Angkas rider’s helmet has an ‘elesi’. According to netizens, it seems to be the helmet of the Japanese anime character Doraemon. The driver said that he placed it on his helmet merely for fun.

“Kagabi po habang binabaybay namin yung pababa ng Antipolo, napatingin ako [dahil] biglang parang may umiikot sa helmet ng driver at bigla akong natawa nung husto sumagi agad sa isip ko na parang Doraemon at baka mangailangan ng tulong ni Nobita at [baka] lumipad si doraemon at iwan ako,” Malicdem said.
