Creative Guy in North Cotabato Turns Ordinary Coffin Into Barbeque Grill

MAKESHIFT BBQ GRILL – A creative guy who owns a funeral parlor in North Cotabato has turned a coffin into a barbeque grill.

A coffin, also known as a casket, is a rectangular box-like container that is used to hold and transport a deceased person for burial or cremation. It has been used as a final resting place for centuries and is an integral part of funeral traditions across different cultures and religions.

Coffins are made of various materials such as wood, metal, and even biodegradable materials like bamboo or paper. The material used depends on the individual’s cultural or religious beliefs, environmental considerations, and budget.

Recently, a North Cotabato netizen named Vincent Levi Bayona Doletin created a unique grill. The man, who owns a funeral home, has turned a regular casket into a one-of-a-kind barbeque grill.

Doletin thought of making it during the previous pandemic after he watched the viral “coffin dance meme” on social media. He also said that he had many coffins in stock, but the coffin used for the grill came from his friends in Pampanga.

Gotgot and Ariel Fabian from Santo Tomas, Pampanga, who also supply metal caskets for their shop, gave him the 210-centimeter-long and 70-centimeter-wide coffin. The coffin grill, which is an imported Matthews casket from the United States, includes a cover, a stainless steel charcoal smoker, angle bars for support, and storage space on the side.

Vincent shared that it took them two days to create the grill, along with his cousin, Ronnie Bura-ay and Taloy Bayona. He also denied using the grill for business purposes but only for their relatives.

The netizens’ reactions to Doletin’s idea were mixed. Some were happy and impressed, while others were disgusted by the businessman’s creation.
