Concerned Netizen Raises Public Awareness After She Received This P10 Coin
FAKE COIN – A concerned netizen warned the public regarding the alleged fake P10 coin she received from a store as ‘sukli’.
A netizen named “Mylie Taps” recently raised an issue on the Facebook page “Homepaslupa Buddies 3.0” about receiving a foreign coin that was mistaken for a local one. Mylie received not just one, but two “baht coins” from Thailand, which she thought were ₱10 coins, leading to confusion and inconvenience.
Upon seeing the photos of the coins posted on the Facebook page, many netizens were quick to point out that they were baht coins, not Philippine pesos. The baht is the currency of Thailand and is worth around P1.58 as of March 2, 2022.
The 26-year-old uploader Myla Jean Catapang, a resident of Taguig City, shared that this was not an isolated incident. In fact, it was the second time that she had received a baht coin on different occasions.
The first time was when she bought cat food, and the second was when she bought ‘palamig’ from a stall In both instances, she only found out about the foreign coins after receiving them as ‘sukli’ or change.
“Nakuha ko po yung 1st baht coin nung bumili ako ng cat food. Sinukli lang po. Late ko na nalaman. Kaya tinago ko na lang, Then yung 2nd po ngayon. Hindi ko po alm kung kaninong tindahan dahil 3 po ang binilhan ko. Basta nung bibili na lang ako ng palamig pagtingin ko baht coin na naman po,” Catapang said.

“tingnan nyo na ng maigi mga sinusukli sa inyo na sampung piso .
Pangalawa na to”
If you compare the baht coin and the ₱10 coin, there are some similarities in their appearance, such as their size and the presence of a hole in the center. However, they also have distinct differences, such as the images and inscriptions on each coin.
