Ryan and Lyka explained their actions at the Valentine’s Day edition of Pinoy Henyo in an episode of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho!” When they were playing the game, eagle-eyed netizens users noticed Lyka seemingly mouthing “stomach,” the word that her boyfriend Ryan needs to guess.

Ryan also explained what he did in the jackpot round when he appeared to utter the word “Abra.” He said, “Hindi po ako aware na nasasabi ko po ‘yung word na ‘yun kasi nate-tense po ako na sana po masabi niya ‘yung pinapahula po sa kanya.”

“Nu’ng nakita ko po ‘yung video na ‘yun nagulat po ako kasi nasabi ko po pala unintentionally po. Kaya hinihingi po ulit namin ng pasensya.” he added.

Lyka also apologized to the hosts and management of the noontime show and stated that they would contact the program if they were asked to explain their side. The hosts of “Eat Bulaga” have not directly addressed the topic, but have given their thoughts about cheating following the incident.

The male contestant stated that they will take accountability for their actions. He said, “Alam po namin ‘yung pagkakamali namin kaya ready po kami na i-bear po lahat ng consequences po sa lahat ng mga pagkakamali na nagawa po naming.”

Some internet users have suggested that the pair must return the P30,000 they won from the game. Ryan and Lyka both stated that they had received a lot of backlash on social media as a result of the incident.

“Nalungkot din po ako kasi may mga tao din po talagang nangja-judge po sa amin. Nag-deactivate po kami ng account para po hindi po namin makita ‘yung mga criticisms po ng mga tao,” said Ryan.

“Sa mga basher po tumigil na po kayo kasi marami na pong naaapektuhan,” Lyka added.

They also addressed a message to the “Eat Bulaga” management. “Sa Eat Bulaga!, sa Pinoy Henyo po, sa mga host, hinihingi po namin ng pasensya ‘yung mga pangyayari po.”

The contestants stated that they had learned their lesson from what had occurred. “Ia-apply po namin ‘yung lessons po namin sa sarili namin para po mag-grow pa po kami personally.”
