Alex Gonzaga, Aljur Abrenica, and Angeline Quinto have an entry in Summer MMFF 2023
Critics are planning to boycott the Summer Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 movie Single Bells featuring Alex Gonzaga and Aljur Abrenica.
Just recently, the MMFF announced the official entries in the first-ever Summer MMFF. Alex and Aljur’s entry is directed by Fifth Solomon. This also features singer-vlogger Angeline Quinto.
In a recent Instagram post, Angeline shared photos with Alex, Aljur, and Fifth to promote their movie. The singer-vlogger expressed gratitude to be part of this project. “Sana ay suportahan nyo po kami mga ka-twinkle. See you guys,” she added.
Fans of the singer, based on the article in Bandera congratulated her for having this big project while some expressed support. However, there were also those who said that they will not watch this movie because of Alex Gonzaga and Aljur Abrenica.
These past months, Alex became controversial due to her viral icing-smearing video. Aljur is also a hot topic online just recently and it is because of his relationship confirmation with AJ Raval.
“Kasama pa n’ya si Alex si babaeng cake at si Aljur na manloloko,” a netizen commented. There was also a netizen who anticipated that Angeline Quinto will be dragged down with Alex Gonzaga, just like what happened to Henyo Master Joey de Leon in the MMFF 2022 movie My Teacher with Tong Gonzaga.

On the other hand, there were also those who defended Alex Gonzaga and Aljur Abrenica. A netizen said that everyone has moved on and so the critics should do the same.
