AJ Raval Releasing Convo w/ Kylie, Lawyer Explains Legal Implications

Boy Abunda shares a lawyer’s perspective about the convo screenshot AJ Raval released online.

AJ RAVAL – Movie actress AJ Raval posted a screenshot of her conversation with Kylie Padilla and a lawyer speaks about this.

There’s much freedom online. We can post and share anything we want. We can search for someone or something and get the result right away. Online is definitely a privilege if it is used in a proper manner.

However, our actions will always have a consequence. What we say or share now has legal consequences. Without the permission of the other party, the sharer must face the consequence if there is.

In a previous article, AJ Raval shared a screenshot of her conversation with Kylie Padilla. It looks like she was forced to share something as private like their personal chatbox just to prove their critics wrong.

This has become viral and King Of Talk Boy Abunda shared something informational regarding such online behavior. He has talked to a lawyer and shared that these private conversations if shared online without the permission of the other end, will have legal consequences.

The sharer may face cyber libel, most especially if the leaked private conversation is malicious.

“In the case of AJ, she used it to prove, to defend. It looks like naman na wala namang reklamo si Kylie doon sa pag-post ni AJ,” he said. But the conversation AJ shared online is something we don’t know the whole story about yet.

Abunda consulted Atty. Lorna Kapunan about the matter and learned, “Pag may private conversation ka sa social media, ‘pag walang permiso ang iyong kausap at ipinost mo ‘yung screenshot, it is not only improper. It is illegal. ‘Pag may malice, you can be sued for cyber libel.”
