Working Student Gives Encouraging Fellow Learners: “Maswerte parin kayu kac pinapaaral kayu”

A working student gives an encouraging message to his fellow learners “Maswerte parin kayu kac pinapaaral kayu”.

Working students are individuals who simultaneously attend school and have part-time or full-time employment. This arrangement is becoming increasingly common, especially among college students who need to support themselves financially or who are looking to gain practical work experience while completing their studies.

While juggling both work and school can be challenging, it can also be very rewarding for those who are able to successfully manage their time and responsibilities.

Working Student

Mark Anthony Pi-is Tumbaga, a Facebook user, recently shared an inspiring message with his fellow learners that quickly spread online and garnered reactions from netizens.

Tumbaga, a working student since Grade 8, takes on side jobs during weekends to earn money and support his studies. He delivers grocery items to customers and collects junk items from nearby houses during his vacant time.

As early as 4:30 am on weekdays, he wakes up and starts taking orders from customers at around 5:30 am until 7:00 am. Tumbaga’s job helps him cover his education expenses such as practice teaching, allowance, research, and instructional materials.

He also saves money for his licensure examinations.
