Darryl Yap has spoken about Joel Lamangan and Cherry Pie Picache’s statements against him
Martyr and Murderer director Darryl Yap urged veteran director Joel Lamangan and seasoned actress Cherry Pie Picache to be truthful.
Direk Joel is the director of the Martial Law movie Oras de Peligro in which Cherry Pie is the lead star. In previous media conferences, the veteran director expressed that Direk Darryl wanted to “tapatan” their movie. Both movies are set to premiere on March 1.
In a recent media conference for MoM, Direk Darryl, once and for all, addressed this issue. He stressed that he is making this movie, the trilogy, with no intention to go against other movies.
The controversial director even shared a video in which Direk Joel expressed that he will make a movie that will contradict or oppose Maid in Malacanang. “Huwag kang magsinungaling na kami ang tumatapat sa yo. Ikaw ang tumapat sa main. Kung hindi matanggap ng ego mo na isang gaya ko lang ang tatapatan mo, problema mo na yon,” Direk Darryl Yap said.
The MoM director also addressed what Cherry Pie previously stated as she asked him if he still has a conscience. He said that he really likes Cherry Pie’s character in Tanging Yaman.
“Gustung-gusto ko siya doon para lang hindi ko siya pagsalitaan nang masakit. Ang kaibahan lang sa Tanging Yaman, hindi siya iniwan ni Edu [Manzano] doon. Asawa kasi siya ni Edu doon,” Direk Darryl said.
Then, the MoM director encouraged Direk Joel and Cherry Pie to discuss what they have to do in order to promote their movie without mentioning his name. “Stop this jurassic form of promotion. That’s the only and the last statement that I will deliver,” He added.
He also stressed that this is going to be the first and the last instance when he would address this issue.
“For once, hindi kami ang tumatapat. Secondly, hindi kami natatakot sa inyo. Huwag kayong sinungaling! Kung nagsisinungaling kayo sa dahilan ng paggawa ninyo ng pelikula, paano maniniwala ang tao sa inyo na totoo ang naranasan niyo noong martial law? Now, I am doubting them,” Direk Darryl said.
Direk Darryl Yap also mentioned actor Allen Dizon’s statement that their movie was not made to be MoM’s rival. “Ang paplastic niyo naman!” he said.
