PAGASA Says LPA & Amihan Will Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area and shear line would bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Monday (February 20, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area and shear line will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that a Low Pressure Area has been spotted at 195 km North of Legazpi City while the northeast monsoon will be affecting Northern Luzon.

“Ang likeliness na magiging tropical cyclone ang LPA ay naging mataas… Hindi natin tinatanggal ang possibility na ito ay maging tropical depression o ganap na bagyo,” PAGASA weather specialist Veronica Torres said

The LPA and the shear line will bring cloudy weather conditionwith scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Northern Samar.

The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather conditions over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos Norte.

The amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

“Samantalang itong northeast monsoon naman, patuloy ang pag-apekto niya dito sa may Luzon area,” she added.

LPA and localized thunderstorms will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Mindanao, the rest of Visayas, and Mimaropa as well as Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the entire country will be moderate to rough, according to the weather bureau.
