PAGASA Says LPA and Amihan to Bring Rains Over Parts of the Country
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a Low-Pressure Area and amihan will bring rains over parts of the Philippines.
On Saturday (February 18, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA and northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that a Low-Pressure Area has been spotted 285 km East Southeast of Davao City. The northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon.
The LPA will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over entire Visayas.
Amihan will bring similar weather condition over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Romblon and Marinduque.
The LPA / Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, the rest of MIMAROPA and the rest of Mindanao.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough.
“Ito’y nagpapaulan pa rin po, simula kahapon, for most of Mindanao and even Visayas, at ngayon na rin sa may Bicol Region,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estreja said.
