Mr. Johnny Manahan Names his Most Admired Artists in the PH Showbiz Industry
JOHNNY MANAHAN – The Star Maker named the actors and actresses in the Philippine showbiz industry that he admires the most.
While the actors and actresses are the ones whose fame is evident on television, there are those individuals who are working behind the camera to help the career of these artists. They hone actors and actresses to help them achieve their maximum potential in the field. One of the veterans at doing it is Mr. Johnny Manahan.
More popularly called as Mr. M in showbiz, the Star Maker is a former head of Star Magic, the talent management arm of ABS-CBN network. He was also the co-founder of the said talent management. However, the network shut down due to franchise issues.
In July 2021, the transfer of Mr. M to GMA Artist Center, the talent management of the Kapuso network, was announced. He was named as a consultant of the talent management.
Although he is popular as a star maker, there are only rare occassions when Mr. M had a sit-down interview. Amid the pandemic, he was usually on Zoom meetings. Meanwhile, recently, the now Kapuso talent management consultant appeared in a vlog interview with Kapuso star Alden Richards for Sparkle GMA Artist Center.
During the interview, Mr. Johnny Manahan was asked about the actors and actresses in the Philippine showbiz industry that he admires the most. The Star Maker named Jericho Rosales and Piolo Pascual who are under the Kapamilya network and Kapuso stars Alden Richards, Sanya Lopez, and Bea Alonzo.
It was in July 2021 when Bea transferred to GMA-7 after decades of being under the Kapamilya network. Alden was surprised to be named by Mr. M. He recalled their encounter after the showing of the film Hello. Love. Goodbye. which he did with Kapamilya star Kathryn Bernardo.
According to Alden, when he and Mr. M saw each other backstage, there was only one (1) word that the Star Maker told him – “Sensitive”. The Kapuso actor admitted that it really made mark on him.
