PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Monday (February 13, 2023)
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the trough of a low-pressure area will bring overcast skies and rains in the entire Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, and Bohol.
On Monday (February 13, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA’s trough and northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area has been spotted off Mindanao but still outside of the Philippine area of responsibility. It has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.
“While we have a low-pressure area outside the Philippine area of responsibility, it has a small chance of becoming a tropical cyclone, and we can say that its circulation is not that developed,” weather specialist Obet Badrina said.
Badrina said that the LPA’s extension will bring cloudy weather with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Eastern and Central Visayas and parts of Mindanao.
However, he clarified that the remaining parts of the country would have fair weather condition.
“We expect that its trough or extension that you can see in the part of Mindanao, will bring cloudy skies with rains, for the rest of the country, particularly in Luzon, as you can see there are almost no cloud bands,” Badrina added.
The localized thunderstorms will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rains/rain showers and/or thunderstorms over the rest of Visayas and Palawan including the Kalayaan Islands.
The northeast monsoon will also bring fair weather conditions in most parts of Luzon and Visayas.
The amihan will bring moderate to rough coastal water condition over the eastern section of Visayas. The rest of Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditons.
