Vendors Say More Filipinos Buy ‘Gayuma’ a Few Days Before Valentine’s Day

According to some reports, more Filipinos were buying ‘gayuma’ or love potions a few days before Valentine’s Day.

A few days before Valentine’s Day, many people have been preparing presents for their special someone. Aside from flowers or chocolates, did you know that there are still other items that you can buy in Quiapo, Manila?

It has been reported that there are even more people buying love potions and anti-love potions in Quiapo, Manila three days before Valentine’s Day. Many vendors have reported that there has been a surge in demand for their love potions.

A bottle of a love potion is sold for P500, which comes with a white flower and a piece of paper with a prayer written in Latin.

According to a vendor who has been selling ‘gayuma’ for four decades, love potions should be kept in the pocket and pressed to release the magic into your hand. The vendor said that if you are looking for love, you just need to touch the love potion so that it will be attracted to you.

There are also vendors selling anti-love potions, made from herbs, bark, and various plants, each bottle is also sold for P500. However, there are still many people who do not believe in love potions.

However, ‘gayuma’ vendor reminds the public that it should not be used to force someone to love you. The latter believes that real love can’t be altered.
