Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Cagayan, February 10, 2023
EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.5 magnitude quake in Cagayan today, Friday, February 10, 2023.
Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few days ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a different part of Cagayan. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 4.5.
The earthquake that struck Cagayan today, Friday, February 10, 2023, at 09:29 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Dalupiri Island.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Masbate was located at 19.19°North, 121.13°East – 012 km North 43° West of Dalupiri Island with a depth of focus of 008 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. Based on the record released, no intensity was recorded of the said quake. Instrumental Intensity II was jolted in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.
