PAGASA Says Amihan to Bring Overcast Skies & Rains Over Parts of PH
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will bring overcast skies and rains over parts of the country.
On Thursday (February 9, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Amihan will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon or amihan will continue to bring cloudy skies and rain over various parts of Luzon.
“Dahil sa epekto ng northeast monsoon, mas magiging maulan dito sa may silangang bahagi ng Luzon,” Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres said.
The northeast monsoon is expected to bring cloudy weather condition with rains over Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon.
Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with rains over Metro Manila, Western Visayas, and the rest of Luzon. The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over the remaining parts of the country.
“Dito naman sa nalalabing bahagi ng Visayas also sa may Mindanao, magandang panahon din naman ang inaasahan natin. Dito sa Mindanao area mas mataas ang tiyansa ng thunderstorm activity sa may hapon,” Torres added.
The weather agency has warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over extreme Northern Luzon and the eastern section of the country will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
