2 Foreign Nationals Presenting Fake Travel Documents Arrested in NAIA
Police authorities arrested two (2) foreign nationals for allegedly presenting fake travel documents at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
The two foreigners were named as Zhang Yang, 30, a Chinese national, and Malkeet Singh, 42, an Indian national, according to a Philippine News Agency report. According to a Bureau of Immigration statement, they were recently apprehended using false travel passports at the NAIA (BI).
Yang was arrested for the first time at NAIA Terminal 2 on Sunday, according to BI Border Control Investigation Unit (BCIU) chief Dennis Alcedo. Yang’s passport was discovered to be forged after the NAIA intercepted him on his way to Bangkok, Thailand aboard Philippine Airlines on February 5.
Furthermore, it was determined that Yang had been blacklisted for a long time for breaking the terms of his stay in the country. Singh, on the other hand, was caught at NAIA Terminal 1 after landing in the nation on Scoot Airline from Singapore on Monday morning.
Based on the report, Singh was caught instantly after BI personnel discovered that the Philippine arrival stamp on his passport was forged. The two foreign nationals are now in BI custody and will face criminal charges.
