Netizens are now tagging Toni Gonzaga as “Flop Queen”
Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga is now being tagged as “Flop Queen” after netizens noticed that her most recent showbiz engagements did not do well.
Toni has ventured into various departments in the entertainment industry for the past two decades of her career. From being A-list actor Piolo Pascual’s partner in a commercial, she was given a big break as one of the hosts of the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga.
Eventually, she was given acting and recording projects when she transferred to ABS-CBN. She also hosted several primetime shows on the Kapamilya network. Last year, Toni signed a contract with AMBS, the new network acquired by business tycoon Manny Villar.
Toni Gonzaga immediately had her self-titled talk show. However, previously, rumors surfaced that the show was having a hard time getting guests for her shows. Apparently, her political affiliation has something to do with this.
Just recently, it was announced that ALLTV is reassessing its shows. This means that shows will stop airing for now, including TONI, the talk show of the Ultimate Multimedia Star.
Following this, netizens called Toni the “Flop Queen.” Twitter user @dboynextdoor20 shared photos of the supposed “flop” projects that Toni did for the past five months. “HISTORY: Four major flops in just five months,” the Twitter user wrote and included the hashtags “Boycott is Real” and “Farewell Tour.”
The post included four photos of Toni. The first one was the poster for her Shopee endorsement. To recall, netizens expressed that they are boycotting the online shopping app for getting Toni Gonzaga as an endorser.
Then, it was followed by the movie post of My Teacher, her MMFF 2022 film with Henyo Master Joey de Leon. The said movie was not among the three top-grossing films in last year’s film festival.
Next was the I AM TONI concert for her 20th anniversary in the entertainment industry. Rumors surfaced that the ticket sales did not go well and tickets were given away for free. Toni’s mom Mommy Pinty was even accused of buying 500 tickets and the concert producer later on confirmed that the mother of the celebrity bought 350 tickets. The last photo was from Toni’s talk show on ALLTV.
