Power Duo Makes It To Grand Finals Of America’s Got Talent: All-Stars
AMERICA’S GOT TALENT – Philippines’ sensational dance couple Power Duo made it to the grand finals of America’s Got Talent: All-Stars edition.
We feel happy and proud each time we hear about the Filipinos who have conquered on the international stage, especially in televised talent competitions like “America’s Got Talent.” It is one of the most popular talent shows in the world.
Undiscovered artists of all ages, including singers, dancers, magicians, comics, musicians, and ventriloquists, perform in front of famous judges, who each week choose which competitors advance in the competition. The audience gains insight into these remarkable people’s pasts through the show’s host as they compete to reach the finals when one gifted performer will receive a $1 million prize that will change their lives.
The Filipino modern acrobatic dance troupe Power Duo won the “Pilipinas Got Talent” season 5 in 2016, and qualified for the “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” grand finals by winning the super fans vote.
A video of their performance can be watched on AGT’s YouTube channel. The duo, composed of real-life couple Anjanette Portales and Gervin Minor, impressed the audience and the talent show judges Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Simon Cowell as they performed to Calum Scott’s “You Are the Reason.”

Darius Mabda and the Ndlovu Youth Choir were beaten by Power Duo. Prior to the announcement of the grand finalists, the three of them were among the contestants that received the highest number of super fan votes.

Power Duo thanked their fans and “Pilipinas Got Talent” season 5 judges Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin, former ABS-CBN president Freddie M. Garcia (FMG), and actor-turned-politician Robin Padilla in a series of tweets on their Twitter page. These judges awarded them a golden buzzer during the 2016 competition.

Anjanette Portales and Gervin Minor also received compliments from Calum Scott who thanked the duo for “using [his] music to express art,” via Twitter as well.

The couple will face off against “Britain’s Got Talent” 2020 finalist, magician Aidan McCann. He advanced after obtaining a golden buzzer from Klum.
Prior to their time on “America’s Got Talent,” Power Duo also participated in the 2019 “Asia’s Got Talent,” where they placed third.
