On Monday morning (January 23, 2023), the Caloocan City Police Station reported that a 19-year-old student died after falling from the ninth floor of a building inside the University of the East (UE) campus in Caloocan City.
The school utility personnel discovered the student’s body lying in the drainage after checking the loud noise he heard a while ago. The incident happened at Lucio C. Tan Building inside UE.
The victim was taken by ambulance to the Manila Central University Hospital but was declared dead at about 10:30 a.m. At around 2:30 pm on the same day, his body was delivered to Floresco Funeral Services.

According to the report, the school worked with CCPS to conduct an internal investigation, and the findings “clearly demonstrate the absence of any foul play or neglect by any other individual.”
“That said, the entire UE community is in mourning in the wake of this tragic loss of a young life, and we enjoin everyone to pray for his eternal repose,” UE said in a statement.
