Andrea Torres shared the story behind her trending Sisa performance
Kapuso actress Andrea Torres revealed that she almost pass out before she did her trending six-minute monologue in Maria Clara at Ibarra.
Andrea received praise from viewers of the Kapuso historical portal drama series, as well as from netizens who saw her performance as Sisa, based on Jose Rizal’s novel Noli Me Tangere.
After being a trending topic on social media, Andrea expressed gratitude to everyone who shared their positive comments on her performance. The Kapuso star said that she appreciates people’s reactions to her portrayal of Sisa.
In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Andrea Torres shared that the scene in which she had her monologue was so tiring. She even said that even before the actual take, she couldn’t breathe properly.
“I remember it was 3:30 a.m. at that time and we would shoot the whole day. I really told direk Zig, ‘di ako makahinga (I couldn’t breathe),” the actress said, adding that among the big scenes that she did, this is the first time that she felt that way.
“It was my first time to feel like something was stuck in my throat na kahit anong inom ko, kahit anong hinga ako, something was still there,” Andrea shared. While recalling what she told their director before the take, she was laughing.
“I was really going to pass out because I was so nervous that I felt I couldn’t do it anymore,” the actress said. Looking back on that, Andrea said that she is thankful that their director Zig Dulay gave her the trust and freedom to interpret the scene.
At that time, Andrea shared that everyone on the set supported her by being quiet and giving her an environment where she can become open. Andrea Torres also revealed that they were there on the location for 10 minutes even though the scene was aired for six minutes.
“It was really an out-of-body experience. Nung nag-cut nga si direk, that was the only time I realized may mga lupa na pala ako sa bibig ko. It’s a great feeling for any actor to do such scenes,” the Kapuso actress said.
