Kim Kardashian Acquires Princess Diana’s Iconic Necklace
KIM KARDASHIAN – One of Princess Diana’s iconic jewelry pieces is now owned by Kim Kardashian.
Kim Kardashian is an American socialite, businesswoman, and media personality. She’s the ex-wife of entrepreneur and musician Kanye West. They share four (4) children: North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3.
The 42-year-old socialite garnered media attention last year when she showed up to the Met Gala wearing the exact gown that Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang for then-president John F. Kennedy on his birthday in 1962. The gown cost $4.8 million or P251,913,600.00.
According to the auction house Sotheby’s, Kim has acquired the Attallah Cross, the iconic amethyst and diamond pendant worn on numerous occasions by Princess Diana. Based on a report from Inquirer, the item, created by British jeweler Garrard in the 1920s, sold for 163,800 pounds ($202,300) on Wednesday, January 9, at the auction house’s “Royal and Noble” sale in London.

The pendant, which Princess Diana famously wore at a charity dinner in 1987, sold for more than twice the pre-auction low estimate, and Sotheby’s confirmed that a representative of Kim Kardashian purchased it.
“Jewellery owned or worn by the late Princess Diana very rarely comes on to the market, especially a piece such as the Attallah Cross, which is so colorful, bold and distinctive,” Sotheby’s Kristian Spofforth stated before the sale.
“To some extent, this unusual pendant is symbolic of the princess’ growing self-assurance in her sartorial and jewellery choices, at that particular moment in her life.”
