Xian Lim is embracing his role as a director
Kapuso star Xian Lim said that being called “director” gives “kilig” feeling to him than being called an actor.
Xian is a multitalented artist. Aside from being an actor, he also sings and can play various instruments. Just recently, he ventured into directing. Xian also writes screenplays.
His recent movie project Hello Universe features the tandem of Anjo Yllana and Janno Gibbs. In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, Xian Lim said that being a director gives a certain thrill to him.
“Syempre mas nakakakilig marinig ang direktor kasi yun talaga ang gusto kong gawin ever since nagsimula ako,” he said. The Kapuso star said that he would always tell this story that back in 2009, when he did his first Cinemalaya film Two Funerals, he already wanted to try directing.
“Gustong gusto ko na talagang maging parte behind the camera. Mas kinikilig ako (kapag tinawag na direktor), sobrang gandang pakinggan,” Xian said.
On the other hand, he said that he will never depart from being an actor because it is already in his heart. However, having another form to tell a story gives him another sense of fulfillment.
He also said that he is looking forward to doing more stories. Xian also wrote the Hello Universe script and this will show the other side of him, his funny side. The Kapuso star also shared that he has already several plots prepared for his future projects.
“Halos every month nangungulit ako. May mga screenplay na ako na binigay sa Viva, palagi akong nagpi-pitch. Panalangin ko yun,” Xian Lim shared.
He said that he is willing to direct whatever genre, even those that are in Vivamax but he said that he is a bit hesitant about directing his girlfriend Kim Chiu also. “Kim has this strong imagination and vision, especially when she’s acting. She knows what she wants so that will be a challenge for me,” Xian shared.
