Ogie Diaz warned the online community not to believe these Facebook pages
Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz slammed these Facebook Pages that are using his name for selling various products.
Celebrities are effective endorsers of different products and services. Most of the time, if not always, celebrities play a major role in the outcome of the profit of a certain endorsement.
However, there were also instances that scammers or people who want to take advantage of other people using prominent names in order to sell their products. This is what several FB pages did.
Ogie Diaz shared screenshots of Facebook posts from pages using his name and photos to scam other people. “Grabe na ang holdap ngayon. Nabawasan na sa kalye, nasa digital na sila. Yung kainosentihan at kaignorantehan ng mga tao ang kanilang susi para makapambiktima ng mga nilalang,” the talent manager-vlogger said in his post.
He shared that for several instances already, he was victimized by this kind of scheme online. Then, he warned his followers not to believe these pages. The Facebook pages were selling jewelry and knife and the posts are trying to make netizens believe that Ogie initially bought a more expensive item than what he discovered later on.
He said that he and his friends have already reported the said pages. Ogie Diaz reiterated, “Hindi po ito totoo. Hindi po legit at lalong wala po akong kinalaman sa mga kung ano-anong ibinebenta ng fake pages na ito na ginagamit ako para makapambudol.”
He also said that he hopes people behind these pages would learn how to earn money properly. “Lumaban kaya kayo ng patas sa buhay, no? Mahirap ba yon?” the talent manager-vlogger said.
