Jodi Sta Maria Adopts Stray Cat She Found at the Airport and Named it “Naia”
NAIA CAT – Actress Jodi Sta Maria adopted the stray cat she found at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and named it NAIA.
Many netizens were moved by award-winning actress Jodi’s generosity. This was after she adopted a stray and courteous cat from Terminal 1 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Jodi described how she obtained the kitten she called Naia (pronounced as Naya) in a post. Jodi shared hearing Naia cry at the airport. She thought the kitten was asking for help and food from the passengers passing by, according to her.
The actress’ post (published as is) reads, “Poor kitty now has a new home. Found this kitten at the airport. She kept meowing as if asking for humans to feed and help her. It was raining too so she must have been cold. Kawawa coz nababangga siya ng cart ng passengers,” she said.
According to Jodi, a passenger made fun of her when she tried to keep passers-by from hitting the cat. She revealed that one of the passengers chastised her for stopping the cart so the kitten could pass.
“But I super understand naman kasi everyone was rushing to get home from their flights. Sabi ko lang ‘Manong pasensya na po may pusa po kasi.’ Then he told me ‘wag niyo kasing iwan kung saan-saan alaga niyo,’ then he stormed off,” she said.
“In my head, hindi ko siya alaga…magiging alaga palang. So I got her, took her home and named her Naia, pronounced as Na-ya kasi sa NAIA Terminal 1 ko siya nakuha,” she added.
As a result, Jodi touched and moved many netizens, pet lovers, and fur parents. Congratulations and salutes flooded in for what she has done in the comments area of her post.
