A retired professor shared his thoughts on the viral performance of Dennis Trillo
Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo showcased his caliber in acting in a recent episode of Maria Clara at Ibarra and a retired professor reacted to this.
Dennis became a trending topic on social media because of the impactful performance he delivered and this received positive feedback from the viewers of the series. Netizens also commended his co-stars who contributed to the spine-chilling scene.
Although the show has been receiving good reviews, there were also negative reactions who are being aired. Some are constructive criticisms addressed to the production and the cast.
Based on the article in Balita retired professor Dr. Lakandupil Garcia also shared his thoughts on the recent viral performance showcased by Dennis Trillo. Garcia said that he has been following the series and as a professor of language and literature he lauded it even though some of the scenes cannot be read in the original novel of Jose Rizal.
However, the recent episode featuring Dennis elicited “nabagabag” reaction from him. “Dahil kapag hindi maging maingat ang guro at maging hindi mapanuri ang mga estudyante (lalo pa’t tulad ni Bb. Klay ay tamad magbasa) baka hindi na malaman sa talakayang pangklase KUNG ALIN ANG ORIHINAL NA NILALAMAN NG NOBELA laban sa MALIKHAING PRESENTASYON/PRODUKSYON ng GMA 7,” the retired professor said in his Facebook post.
He particularly cited the scene in which Maria Clara, played by Julie Anne San Jose stood on the church bench and shouted “DINGGIN N’YO KAMI!” while his fist gestured that she was punching in the air.
“Saan sa nobela mababasa ito???” Garcia asked, adding the line of Lou Veloso’s character to Klay, played by Barbie Forteza, saying “HINDI KO NA ALAM ANG MAAARING MANGYARI!’” The retired professor also worries about those who do not read and do not want to read the novel because they will not understand and would not be able to explain to other people or identify which part is included and not included in the original novel.
“Baka bumangon na si Rizal mula sa hukay dahil sa ginagawang ito sa kanyang dakilang nobelang NOLI ME TANGERE…” Garcia said.
However, the retired professor stressed in an interview that he is not a basher of the Kapuso series. He said that he is just worried about the result.
