Vatican Statement on Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI’s Health Now

VATICAN – A statement regarding the current health condition of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI following the request of prayers for him was released.

Recently, a lot of people were worried when Pope Francis, the current supreme pontiff of the Catholic church, asked for prayers for Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. His request came after a general audience in Vatican City.

The current Supreme Pontiff asked for a special prayer for the former Pope revealing that he is “very ill”. His advancing age, being 95 years old, was cited as a factor in his current health condition. The current Pope visited him right after his general audience.

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI who is currently 95 years old is the first pope since the Middle Ages to resign as head of the Catholic church in 2013. He left his post due to his health condition.

“Remember him, because he [Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI] is very ill, asking the Lord to console and support him,” Pope Francis said yesterday.

Recently, the Vatican released a statement regarding the current health condition of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the former Supreme Pontiff is “lucid and alert”.

According to Vatican, his condition is serious but stable. It is also said that the former Pope was able to rest well last night. Prayers for the former Pope flooded the report postings about him. Based on the report, Catholic leaders across the globe also assured prayers for the former Pontiff of the Catholic Church.
