How true is it that Ivana Alawi was not supposed to be on the list of Best Actress nominees?
Rumor has it that Partners In Crime actress Ivana Alawi was just “isiningit” on the list of Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022 Best Actress nominees.
For this year’s film festival, Ivana joined the movie of Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda. In a previous interview, the actress said that she felt a bit pressured to do this movie because of her famous co-star. It was also directed by a famous director, Cathy Garcia-Molina.
However, she said that she enjoyed filming the movie because it is much lighter than her previous project, the drama series A Family Affair.
On December 27, the MMFF 2022 Gabi ng Parangal was held and Ivana was one of the stars who was mentioned in the Best Actress category. Based on the article in Balita, it was alleged that the Kapamilya actress was not supposed to be on the list of nominees.
“Ayon sa ulat ng isang pahayagan, isang impormante ang tsumika sa kanilang isiningit lang daw ang pangalan ni Ivana sa listahan,” entertainment columnist Richard de Leon wrote in his article with the title “‘Siningit lang?’ Ivana Alawi, pinagtaasan daw ng kilay nominasyon sa MMFF Best Actress category.”
The columnist also said that many people wondered why prominent actresses in the movie Family Matters such as Liza Lorena, Agot Isidro, and Nikki Valdez were not nominated.
To recall, Agot expressed dismay over this matter. She said that she was quite disappointed that their movie did not get any nominations. Nikki also had the same thought regarding this.
Deleter actress Nadine Lustre was the one who received the Best Actress trophy this year. As of this writing, the MMFF management has not released a statement yet in line with this issue.
