Ai-Ai delas Alas Speaks on Late Singer Jovit Baldivino
AI-AI DELAS ALAS – The Pilipnas Got Talent (PGT) Judge revealed why she cried during the audition of late singer Jovit Baldivino.
The death of Kapamilya singer Jovit Baldivino left countless hearts broken. He died at the age of 29 last December 9, 2022 in a hospital in Batangas. According to his family, he had a stroke last November 22, 2022 and was under hypertension medication since then.
In the first week of December, he was invited by a friend from Batangas to a Christmas party. Although he was advised by the doctor not to do strenuous activities, he was not able to turn down the request of the crowd. He sang three (3) songs including Faithfully, one of his signature songs, by Journey.
However, after singing three (3) songs, Jovit was rushed to the hospital. According to his family, he had another stroke. He went through a CT Scan and the result revealed that he has a blood clot which was identified as a sign of aneurysm.
Jovit Baldivino went through an operation. He was in a comatose state for five (5) days after the operation and passed away last December 9, 2022.
Jovit gained his prominence went he joined Pilipinas Got Talent in 2010. He was the grand winner of the ABS-CBN reality show’s first season. One of the judges of the show is comedienne Ai-Ai delas Alas.
Speaking to Pep, Ai-Ai delas Alas revealed the reason why she cried when Jovit Baldivino auditioned to Pilipinas Got Talent. According to the Comedy Queen, she cried and felt pity towards him when she knew that he was selling siomai to earn money.
“Sabi niya, ‘Nagtitinda po ako ng siomai’. Umiyak ako naawa ako sa kanya kasi si Jovit yung parang ang liit-liit, ang payat-payat,” Ai-Ai said.
During the interview, Ai-Ai delas Alas further expressed that she felt that Jovit Baldivino is really so blessed because even if he is poor, he has the amazing voice for singing.
Ai-Ai stressed that the public really loved Jovit and she believes that the people will disagree in case he will not win the PGT Season 1. His victory opened a lot of opportunities for him and he was able to take his family out from poverty.
