Jodi Sta Maria now has a grown-up son
Award-winning actress Jodi Sta Maria talked about being a mother of a teenager, her son Thirdy Lacson.
Jodi is a mother of a grown-up son and talking about Thirdy, she became emotional during the media conference after winning the 2022 Asian Academy Creative Awards Best Actress trophy, based on the article in Manila Bulletin.
She shared that spending time with his son is one of the things she enjoys doing right now. “He’s turning 17. Grabe, ibang-iba na po talaga kapag may teenager ka na. I know yung iba nakaka-relate dito,” the actress said.
Jodi Sta Maria understands that her son is nearing the point in his life that she will not be his favorite person anymore. Being exposed to school and having his own set of friends, she said that Thirdy now values the opinions of his friends.
“Then minsan kapag-aayain mo sasabihin nila, ‘I’m fine.’ I’ll just stay in my room,'” she said, adding that when Thirdy was younger, he would always be by her side. The actress also said that she knows there will come a time that she had to let her son go.
“So ‘yun po, I want to enjoy him more kasi after college, habang lumalaki po siya, tumatanda po siya, gusto ko po talaga siyang i-enjoy kasi darating yung time na I will have to let him go,” Jodi Sta Maria said.
Meanwhile, the actress is thankful for all the wonderful things that happened in her life this 2022. She recalled that she mentioned in her acceptance speech that winning the AACA Best Actress award is one of the highlights of her career.
Jodi said that she had an overwhelming feeling to stage on stage knowing that she is representing the Philippines. She is happy that Filipinos are beginning to be recognized internationally.
